The fact that 68% of Tec de Monterrey’s undergraduate students have taken at least one class related to entrepreneurship has contributed to the institution being in the Top 10 of The Princeton Review: 2025 Entrepreneurship Rankings for Top Undergraduate Schools.

The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur have released the results of these rankings, in which the institution ranked 9th place. It is the only university outside the United States to feature in the Top 10 of the ranking and #1 in the International category.

The Princeton Review: Entrepreneurship Rankings for Top Undergraduate Schools is one of the few rankings to specifically evaluate entrepreneurship in over 300 universities from different countries.

The Tec has participated in these rankings since 2016, and has been in the Top 10 since 2019, alongside universities such as the University of Houston, Babson College, University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

“Entrepreneurship is the ability to create shared value through innovative solutions. At the Tec, we believe that this is one of the most powerful ways of transforming reality: by generating impact both with and for others,” said Juan Pablo Murra, Rector of the Tec.

Ulrick Noel, Director of the Tec’s Eugenio Garza Lagüera Institute of Entrepreneurship, said: “We’re convinced that entrepreneurship can be transmitted through education, and we’ve confirmed this through the impact of our institution on its graduates.

“We’re proud to know that 43% have become entrepreneurs at some point in their career, creating jobs and transforming their communities.”

“Since we started these rankings nearly two decades ago, the number of universities offering entrepreneurship courses has grown tremendously,” said Rob Franek, Editor-in-Chief of The Princeton Review.

“We highly recommend the schools on our 2025 lists. Their faculties are exceptional. Their programs contain strong experiential components.

“Their students have access to extraordinary mentors, as well as networking contacts that will be of great use to them over the course of their careers,” he added.

The ranking methodology

The methodology used includes the review and analysis of information from each participating university in three main areas:

1. Academics and Requirements

For this section, Tecnológico de Monterrey offered 148 subjects and 2 degree programs promoting entrepreneurship to its students.

2. Students and Faculty

This year, more than 1,000 professors have taught at least one class related to the subject, meaning that 68% of undergraduate students enrolled in at least one entrepreneurial subject, regardless of their professional degree.

3. Outside the Classroom

This section analyzes data on activities within the entrepreneurial ecosystem and considers the efforts made by universities as support to the entrepreneurial community.

Over 900 entrepreneurial projects have been carried out by academic entrepreneurship program graduates over the last 5 years, and support has been received from over 1,000 mentors from the business sector, through programs such as Enlace+.
