Times Higher Education: Tec is #1 university in Mexico and #7 in LatAm

Research undertaken by students, faculty, and staff at Tec de Monterrey has been recognized by the Times Higher Education (THE) Latin America University Rankings 2024, which ranked the institution as the #1 university in Mexico and #7 in Latin America.

The indicators that make up the rankings are grouped into five categories: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook.

The Tec’s strongest categories in this year’s rankings were Research Environment and Research Quality.

214 institutions from 16 countries in the region participated in the latest rankings (17 more than last year).

For the ninth consecutive year, the Tec has been ranked in first place among both private and public Mexican universities.

“At Tecnológico de Monterrey, we will continue to promote inclusive, rigorous, and high-impact research that transforms experiences by generating knowledge and providing solutions to the challenges faced by society,” said Feniosky Peña-Mora, Executive Vice President of Research at the Tec.

Times Higher Education (THE) is an international organization that provides insight into university performance through its global rankings, represents the sector via events in many regions, and provides strategic consulting in higher education.

THE used the same methodology in this year’s regional rankings as in the world rankings; however, some of the indicators were recalibrated to reflect the region’s educational profile.
