announced the consolidation of the Tecnológico de Monterrey Education Group, which consists of Tec de Monterrey, TecSalud, and Tecmilenio.
With an eye to the future, specifically toward 2030, Saldívar said that the Tec’s institutions will share the goal of transforming the lives of people and communities through education.
“This goal is the result of a listening exercise and deep reflection (...) It’s what we aspire to and where we’ll be putting our efforts towards 2030,” said Saldívar.

Strategic areas for 2030
Saldívar presented the five strategic areas that will guide the institution’s endeavors over the coming years:
- Boosting Tecnológico de Monterrey’s prestige around the world, with the best talent and academic excellence.
- Positioning Tecmilenio as an educational model that broadens access to high-quality education.
- Enhancing the health sciences area as a leading platform for clinical care and education in Mexico and Latin America.
- Making a large-scale impact on Spanish-speaking young people and adults through continuing education programs.
- Promoting innovation as a key differentiator.

Development that marks a milestone
David Garza, Executive President of the Tecnológico de Monterrey Education Group, said that this development marks a milestone in our history and aims to inspire the community to collaborate under the aegis of a clear focus and spirit of innovation.
Garza said that this corporate structure aims to boost its contribution to Mexico and the world.
“Today, we are the Tecnológico de Monterrey Education Group, which consists of these three institutions and is an opportunity to set the course of each of them to achieve our goal,” said the executive president.
For his part, Saldívar explained that the Tecnológico de Monterrey Education Group does not substitute the institutions it consists of but enhances them and strengthens their aspirations and responsibilities.
“We want to be the number one university in Latin America and be among the top 100 in the world through academic excellence.
“We want to have the best talent, supporting research, remaining true to our commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship, and fostering the development of critical thinking in our students,” he added.

Centered around education
Garza said that academic excellence is the guiding principle of Tec de Monterrey as an institution.
“It’s our aspiration and ambition to elevate the global recognition and prestige of our institution, to be hands down the best university in Latin America.
“We also aspire to be among the top 100, or why not?, among the top 50 universities in the world,” said Garza Salazar.
In order to achieve this goal, they’ll seek to boost research, innovation, and entrepreneurship that transforms, explained the executive president.
“Let’s imagine a Tec with the best talent to build a better world guided by academic excellence.
“Let’s imagine a Tec whose campuses provide a stronger university experience and academic excellence, that makes a greater impact, which is a global point of reference for the use of artificial intelligence in education,” he added.

As for TecSalud, Garza explained that they wish to boost its leadership in health sciences, research, and innovation.
“With TecSalud, it’s our ambition to be the best academic health center and a point of reference in Latin America, with the best healthcare.
“We want our Health Sciences Campus project to extend the impact and scope of education, research, and innovation, and for this campus to be only the first phase of what we want to do in future.”
Strengthening Tecmilenio is also one of the strategic areas for 2030.
“We want it to keep growing in scope and quality, and to practically double the number of people we can reach with education.
“Let’s imagine a Tecmilenio with flexible models, not only the in-person model but also remote and hybrid, and the possibility of students easily transferring between the different models,” he explained.
Finally, he said that Tecmilenio seeks greater employability with new stackable, customizable, modular, and flexible educational models.
“We have the enormous responsibility of educating to transform, educating to motivate, and driving for progress.
“We also have the enormous privilege of influencing tens of thousands of students, faculty, researchers, and staff, to motivate their education, their curiosity, and their efforts,” concluded Garza.
