Tec de Monterrey and the University of Pennsylvania have announced the launch of “Leading the Future of Higher Education in Latin America,” a joint 8-month action learning program for international leaders in education.
This initiative is a collaboration between the Institute for the Future of Education (IFE) at the Tec and the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE), which is recognized for its global strength in educational leadership.
The program, which is designed and offered jointly, features a hybrid learning approach with two immersive in-person sessions: one in Mexico and the other in the United States.

The program for senior educational leaders
This unique program brings together international educational leaders for interactive sessions and mentoring opportunities.
Throughout the course, participants will apply tools to design and implement a transformative project for their institutions. This will take place in a safe environment for networking, sharing practices, and learning from each other.
Participants who complete the program will receive a joint certification from Tecnológico de Monterrey and theUniversity of Pennsylvania.
“Education leaders around the world face complex challenges when adopting innovative pedagogies and advanced technologies to better prepare their students for the future of work,” said Michael Fung, Executive Director of the IFE.
Fung said the program seeks to respond to the needs of Latin American economies and societies in these rapidly changing times.
“Tec de Monterrey’s IFE is proud to be a partner in offering this dynamic, action-oriented program, which will empower leaders by giving them the tools and strategies necessary to drive transformational change within their institutions.”
“This extraordinary collaboration reflects our shared commitment to advancing educational leadership on a global scale,” said Michael Golden, Vice Dean for Innovative Programs and Partnerships, Catalyst at Penn GSE.
Golden said that this partnership will create a unique opportunity for leaders to learn from diverse perspectives, expand their networks, access global experts, and shape the future of higher education in Latin America.
“This program seeks to equip leaders with the vision, knowledge, and capabilities necessary to make a significant and lasting impact on their institutions and beyond,” said Golden.
Golden made the announcement during his talk, entitled “How Innovations Bloom,” at IFE Conference 2025.
